To my friends, I’m a professional photographer. But that’s mainly because I have a DSLR camera and have a creative background. Or probably because my photo album is filled with more artsy photographs than of the standard self-snapshots from the previous night out. Or maybe just because I call them photographs, instead of pics.

I am by no means a professional photographer. Yet. I’ve always been interested in photography, and have considered myself to have an “eye” for certain pictures, but I have quite a lot to learn. But in the meantime, I love taking pictures because it’s more than just a job, or a hobby. I like taking photographs for other people, because I like meeting and interacting with new people and capturing pictures that portray their personality. And because I know that these pictures will mean the world to you.

And then there are the pictures that I take for myself. I don’t have a style, or a specific genre that I focus on. I take pictures because it either tells some sort of story, helps me stay creative, or teaches me something different. Or all three. It helps me document my life, see where all I’ve been, and how far I’ve come.

For me, my camera is a learning tool and time keeper, all at the same.
